- These Scholarships, aligned to Tata AIG Affirmative Action program (TAAP), are focussed on serving females from SC, ST and PwD communities, in addition to Gen-EWS communities. PwD female students are encouraged to apply, irrespective of their social category, viz. PWDs can belong to SC, ST, Gen, Gen-EWS, OBC, etc. and any other social categories.
Eligibility Criteria:
Should be a girl student belonging to any of the following states/UTs: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh
Should have completed her Class 12 from a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya or State Government School
Should belong to any of the following categories: SC / ST / Gen-EWS / PwD
Should have cleared the JEE Mains/Advanced or NEET examination
Should have secured (or should be able to secure admission) in any of the top 200 NIRF listed Engineering Colleges/Government Medical Colleges
Application and Selection Process:
Registration - Girl students, belonging to the Eligible states and the eligible categories, who have completed their Class 12 from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya and State Government Schools and have cleared the JEE Mains / JEE Advanced or NEET examination are invited to submit their applications, which typically include personal information, academic records and other required documents. Please read the Application Guide before you start the application.
Screening of Applications - All Applications are reviewed and screened as per the eligibility criteria. Incomplete and irrelevant applications are disqualified. Applicants are therefore asked to submit factual information and adhere to the guidelines.
Shortlisting of Applications - Based on the initial evaluation and screening of the applications, applicants are shortlisted and would be notified through email regarding the further processes. The number of shortlisted candidates depends on the available number of scholarships and on first come first serve basis. Applicants are required to check their emails regularly to get the updates.
Interview - Shortlisted applicants are invited for an interview through video conferencing. This is one of the crucial stages of the selection process and applicants are required to be available on WhatsApp / Phone at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the interview.
Final Evaluation and Selection - Following the interviews, the selection panel conducts a final evaluation of all the shortlisted candidates which involves document verification and background checks. Based on this evaluation, the final recipients of the scholarships are selected.
Announcement of Result - Once the selection process is completed, all candidates are notified of the outcome. Successful recipients are informed that they have been awarded the scholarship, while unsuccessful candidates are notified that they have not been selected.
Award of Scholarship - The TATA AIG-Avanti Fellows Scholarship award letter is provided to the scholars, and the scholars will receive the financial aid and a laptop or tablet as a one-time gift.
Who can apply for the TATA AIG-Avanti Fellows Scholarship?
Girl students belonging to the Eligible States, who have completed their Class 12 from a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kendriya Vidyalaya or State Government School and have cleared the JEE (Mains/Advanced) or NEET examination and have secured (or are likely to secure admission) in any of the top 200 Engineering colleges (as listed in the NIRF Ranking) / any Government Medical College.

Are there any restrictions on how the scholarship funds can be used?
Yes, the scholarship funds can only be used for Academic related expenses including counseling fees (for 1st year college admission), admission fees, tuition fees, hostel fees, mess fees, book expenses, and other study-associated expenses.
Can students who still need to enroll in a college apply for this scholarship?
Yes, students who are not enrolled in a college can apply for this scholarship. The selection of such applicants is conditional, they have to secure admission in any of the premier institutes to be eligible for receiving the benefits of the scholarship.
Can students who are in the 2nd year of their undergraduate courses apply for this scholarship?
No, only 1st year students are eligible for the scholarship.
